The better method.

Ok so I have a control panel I'm working on. Say a web site gets about a million hits a month. Is it better to constantly be drawing content from a database or lets say... have the admin panel on click of "submit" create a text file which is then "included" to a page?

So this way it would be including a file on the server all the time instead of constantly making calls to mysql?

i'm sure many people will see down sights etc. But to me this sounds like it would save bandwidth and load time?

i've thought about this too. it all depends on how much the content of the database updates.

if it is something that only changes once in a while, then yeah, .. go for it.

if not, then the admin will be pressing that submit button a lot, in which case the convenience of the mysql calls will outweigh the performance hit.
