Cookie question from newbie

I was just wondering if it was possible to get a cookie on your computer from a website if you did not visit the website.

Hmm.. don't think so. I'm pretty sure they have to have access to your computer with an IP or something.

here's a concept.

if you have a php script that generates an image on one site.

then, on another site you are loading that image from an image tag.

i'm wondering if the site that hosts the php script that generates an image can set a cookie that way .. hmmmmm ..

i may try this tonight after i get home.

well the cookie only set when the image was hosted on the same domain .. it did not work across domains... so i don't think it would work.
