Moving 100MB from one server to another

Probably used a months broadband allocation!

Are there any existing scripts to do this without an upload?
Would it be practical to use fputs to do this. I have control of both accounts so could have a request and feed script to pass the files.

If it's a Linux server and you have terminal access you could just scp the lot accross direct with
scp -r ./root_directory user@[url]www.thesite.com:/path/to/web[/url]
