Some of my critical database functions email me if they fail. From time to time they do and they do it elegantly. I don't believe they are the cause of the failure.
How can I get a snap show of all the connections to my database so I can see which are hogging and not being closed properly. I'm pretty careful but some scripts are quite old and in the early days I didn't also close my connections. All I want to do is find the culprit so I can edit them.
Additionally, if my scripts are ok but others domains on my shared host (and outside my influence) are badly coded will that impact on the connections I can have?
How do I find out how many connections I can have? Human visitors aren't a problem but when I'm getting crawled the indexers can hit quite hard.
thanks
Sarah
