HI,

We have a plesk based cms with a js/php browser front end. Back end is php4, mysql, phpmyadmin, apache1.3x, as far as I know most settings are default.

When editing a document for more than 10/15 minutes and then submitting the document via the cms to the database the data is lost.

I would really appreciate any help from someone who has experience of the way plesk handles sessions and caching or alternatively anyone who has ever come across this problem and found a work around.

Just for the record I do not have access to the source code since we have contracted out the development of the cms, however, I will gladly pass your comments on.

i do not actually know, but i assume the cms sets a session timeout of 15 min - maybe it's a built in limit (if it uses it's own session management), maybe u can change the session-timeout in your php.ini...

As Natty_Dreadlock says, it coul dwell be due to the built-in time limit. If it's php hndling the sessions this is set at a default of 1440 seconds (24 mins). However, it's also to do with garbace clean up . I came across this conversation. It might help.http://forums.devshed.com/archive/t-29104
