Not really.
Depending on how the browser handles the textarea tag without a wrap attribute, the formatting may be lost or be not what is expected.
wrap=hard ==> forces wrapping and inserts a hard return at the end of each line.
wrap=virtual ==> causes wrapping, but strips out any returns before submission
wrap=off == > disables wrapping. There may be horizontal scrolling.
wrap=physical ==> I think this is about the same as hard
wrap=soft ==> I think this is about the same as virtual
(There may be others, but I can't think of any more)
I usually use wrap=hard to force wrapping and insert hard returns. So that when I spit the value back out I just put it in pre tags and it looks just like it was submitted.
Also let me point out before someone does it in a snotty way, this is really an HTML not a PHP question
