Generate statements

Hi all,

I need help with generating a statement....i am goin to have a drop down menu with different times

e.g.
Last week
Last two weeks
Last month

what happens then is when someone selects one of these a statement will be generated from present day to whatever they select....Last week, Last month....

How can you get dates for just say two weeks previous and always have it....(If i ordered a statement for the last two weeks it would show me last weeks and this weeks and if i ordered it next week it would show me this week and next week)...Any ideas...

$origin = strtotime('today'); //or can be a date whatever
//i want the last 2 weeks.... (todays Tuesday the 20th..... so we go back to tuesday the 6th...
$two_weeks_ago = strtotime('2 weeks ago', $origin);
//now you have a range from 2 weeks ago tuesday to today tuesday to SELECT with...
//however, how you get the data from the db depends on your table design...
//say you want this week and next week
$origin = strtotime('last sunday'); //may just need 'sunday'
$next_sunday = strtotime('2 sundays', $origin); //skips ahead 2 weeks but ends on sunday so you have a full 2 weeks
//again, how you get the data from the DB depends on your tables....

So if I put this in would it work

$origin = strtotime('20-04-04'); 

$two_weeks_ago = strtotime(06-04-04, $origin); //but how do 
//i fill the dates in $origin with today's date and 
//$two_weeks_ago with the correct date(two weeks ago)

using strtotime.....

//do your login stuff
$today = mktime(); //unix timestamp as of NOW
$the_past = strtotime('2 weeks ago', $today); //this will give you a unix timestamp from the time you set $today, but TWO WEEKS PRIOR

strtotime() read up on it...

if you provide a timestamp it uses THAT as the time you want the '2 weeks ago' from... otherwise it does like mktime and uses RIGHT NOW and gives you 2 weeks ago from now....
