getting a link as value

my web page contains 100 of links to a same php file

I want to get the value of that link into a variable as rest of the working is depend on the value of the link.

eg:

my web form has following link

1. xyz

2. abc

3. pqr

4. efg

5. mno

...

...

..

when we click on xyz the variable consist in the php file let $link will be $link="xyz"

how can it be possible.
