[Resolved] Too many connections

Too many connections

I get this error trying to view any of my pages. It worked just fine until today. I do not usually close my open mysql_connections so I was wondering if there was a way to close them all at once, maybe like a cron job that closes all active connections each day at noon or soemthing.

I have no idea how to write a cron job either.

I would just close them, but there is a point behind this thread.

Is there anyway to close all of them at once?

The issue is resolved, there was a run-away script on the same server. But I would still like to know the answer to the question above.

I dont mean to come of hastfully, but I ask because there are tons of pages and I didnt want to go through them one by one.

unless you are using mysql_pconnect the link to the server will be closed when your script finishes executing.
if you want to clear all connections, you can shutdown the sql server momentarily and then start it up, otherwise there is an option you can use in the my.cnf file.
set variable = flush = ON
set variable = flush_time = x
where x represents in seconds how often the server closes all tables and syncs unflushed data to disk.
