Dreaded 777 Directory!!

Hey all,

On my new website I have a dreaded 777 directory. I use this directory to upload images to then I transfer them to another ftp site. How do I go about stopping people uploading what they want to this directory and then stealing all my bandwidth.

unless you have a public upload script, people wont be able to put anything on your server because the folder is 777. also 775 is a sufficient permission for you to be able to read and modify files in the directory.
