[Resolved] Get the last day of a month

How can i get the last day of a month ??

If i know the first day the month and the year?

And have the year of this first day date in the format : yy

I have the day, month and year in separate pieces so i can compose in any format :
eg.
dd/mm/yy
yy/mm/dd

Can i use only date functions from php to do this job?

If you don't want the last date in the current month, you could do something like:

date("t", mktime(0,0,0,$month,1,$year));

The last day of any given month can be expressed as the "0" day of the next month, not the -1 day. Both of the following examples will produce the string "The last day in Feb 2000 is: 29".

echo strftime("Last day in Feb 2000 is: %d", $lastday);

$lastday = mktime(0, 0, 0, 4, -31, 2000);

just make sure you implement a check where if the current month you have is 12 that you increment the year and set the month to 1

To my surprise i am passing the year in yy format and is working ...

I am comparing dates concatenating
year.month.day

So i can check if a date is greater or not than a given date

but the code :
$lastday = mktime(0, 0, 0, $month, 0, $year); //m/yyyy

$lastday = strftime("%d", $lastday );

seems to be returning the last day of a month before the given month

yes,
$lastday = mktime(0, 0, 0, $month, 0, $year);
will produce the last day of the month before $month.
as php.net says, the 0th day of $month will be the last day of the prior month. so when you pass $month into that just increment it by 1, but you will need to check it you are incrementing past 12 and if so set it to 0.
