I've been reading the manual for the last couple of hours and not found anything that would help so it's down to you guys to put me right.
Is it possible to get information about the contents of a row? For example, say there's a text entry in one row (anything from 1 to 30 sides of A4). Would it be possible to get information about that entry using mysql queries alone or is it down to php with word_count? The kind of information I'm after is size in KB, number of words, pararagraphs, and anything else you can think of.
As an aside, would it be quicker to store said text entries as text files and then insert the newly created file path into the db? I guess this would allow for a static table and cause less defragmentation but if someone could reassure me before I go headlong into my next project, I'd appreciate it.
