is it possible to have a php page refresh only a section and not reload the whole page?

I have a page that calls several different files and I also
have one of the pages thats called, change with a submission
screen on a different part of the web. kind of a news update
so to speak. I have the page refresh now every 30 seconds
with a meta refresh but only one section is set to change so
i dont want to reload any but that section. so is it possible to
have the page detect the change and then reload that section
only?

You'd have to split off the page into frames or iframes.

No.. There is no other way. Your browser requests the entire page from the server, not just one small part.

ok i restructured my page so it will now have a seperate section.
