Regular Expression Help

I'm trying to create a regular expression that goes through a bunch of text to find this link:

<a target="_blank" href="http://www.mysite.com/jump.php?ID=123">

and then return just the ID Number, the id number can be any number (1, 100, 2034, etc...)

I'm horrible at regular expressions, I know I have to learn them someday and I promise I will, but if somebody could help me out just this once! It would mean so much to me!

this is what i've come up with:

$string = '<a target="_blank" href="http://www.mysite.com/jump.php?ID=123">';
$id = ereg_replace('<a target="[_\w]+" href="http://www.mysite.com/jump.php?ID=([\d]+)">', '\\\1', $string);

echo $id;

but it doesn't seem to work, it just prints out:
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.mysite.com/jump.php?ID=123">
