Should I bother?

Hey everybody. Just joined the PHPBuilder forums. As of right now, I know mostly everything in HTML, and the basics of C (not C++). I am thinking of learning PHP. I am going to be getting into web design maybe. I would like to know if it is worth taking the time learning PHP. Also, if you could give me some good links that are good for an ABSOLUTE BEGINNER, that would be nice.

i've worked with perl, asp, c#, and java enough to be pretty comfortable with .. php is still my favorite by far for web application development.

So where is the best place to start learning.

I really am not that great with programming. I am okay at C, but gave up on trying to learn because I didn't even see a point in learning it. I am more interested in Web Development. So what should be my first step? I haven't mastered HTML, but I know about fonts, links, tables, marquees, forms and all the other basic stuff.
