[Resolved] php.ini config for mail()

I'm having probs getting a function that sends a user a password.

the function works up to the email sending...

could anyone give me a generic setup for the php.ini smtp section please???

I'm running apache/php 4.3.2/XP

If you are running on XP, you need to set the following:

ini_set("SMTP","mailf.your.domain.com");
ini_set("sendmail_from","[e-mail]");

Running under Win2k server, I had problems adding these to the php.ini, so I just set it in my script.

...don't you just LOVE the way Windows works the sme for everyone... not! lol

Might just be that I'm using XP pro not a server, but the settings that I set in php.ini were...

SMTP = smtp.yourISP.co.uk (your ISPs SMTP server)
sendmail_from = [e-mail]

Think you should try and have your email client (eg Outlook, etc)open too, cos of the password.
