Music Genre Flat File

Hi, I'm trying to find a big list of of music genres in csv format (doesn't really matter what the format is so long as it's can easily be made machine readable) but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Any ideas on search strings for google?

Hey bubble, this doesn't help much but might help a little- I've seen the most comprehensive list of music genres at
wikipedia but they have them broken down into A-F, G-M etc etc... and they don't have them in an easily downloadable format. Don't know if their list is something you can somehow strip down and use tho.

No way!! That was the list I ended up using (actually hosted elsewhere but noted Wikipedia as the source), I had to strip out some of the more obscure ones (like the one about about hitting sandles against pieces of bamboo ... as a genre in it's own right 😕 ) but it's the closest I could find. I'm suprised that there's not an easy to find csv out there. A while ago I had to search for male and female christian names and it was a piece of p*** to find conveniently formated lists. Maybe once I've striped the wikipedia one down to something a little more practical I should think about hosting it?

Huh - it's hardly comprehensive as it misses out my favourite (he mutters as he sticks one hand under his armpit and begins making bagpipe-playing motions).

It's amazing how long I thought it was "necessity is the mother of strange bedfellows". If you ask me, I think that one makes more sense.....

Here is a list of around 150 each on it's own line, should be easy to work with. Not sure if you wanted more or not, I just grabed these out of coolplayer's source(You can do that right?).
