data needs save in notepad to refresh

Hi all,
i have a php script which receives data from a database but can,t make the page refresh,its a windows explorer/notepad issue,
i,ve trawled the tutorials but can,t seem to make it refresh i,m using
<HEAD>
<LINK REL=stylesheet TYPE="text/css" HREF="wmd.css">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="10;URL=<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>">

<HTML>
<HEAD>
it refreshes the page but not the data,
see previous thread "data needs save in notepad to refresh "
can anyone help

Okay, I dont use Internet Explorer anymore, but I think that to force a refresh, you have to use:
CTRL + F5

You dont need the meta refresh, since the problem will (or rather should) disappear when you actually upload the script.

thanks for your help, the Ctrl f5 doesn,t seem to work still need to go into the php files click save then refresh in browser
its a pain, i,ve sorted the php but now the systems letting me down, can you recommend a free text editor cos i,m blaming notepad now as was said in previous thread
i,ve just got textpad but still the same

Go to:
Tools -> Internet Options -> Temporary Internet Files Settings

In "Check for newer versions of stored pages", try the different options, especially "Every visit to the page".

Consider what is involved in your page:
1. The (local) http server (web server), with PHP installed
2. The (local) database
3. The local http client (web browser)

The only reason why you need a text editor is so that you can edit the PHP page.
If the serving of the PHP page was so dependent on the text editor, then good luck staying awake (and online) 24/7 to deliver content to your customers.

Since the assumption is that #1 and #2 are working, then the fault lies with the web browser.
