Hi,
I'm having a problem extracting the data that i want from the database. Now i have done this before but i dont remember quit how to do it since i havent really used all too much SQL before. I have two tables...Customer and Pend Customer. Now what i want to do is select a few fields from PendCustomer but i wanna double check and make sure that they do not already exist in Customer. how would i do this? here is what i have but im getting the wrong results. im getting a crossover of results. forget the name for that too! haha
so this is what i have and i knew it was wrong but i figured i take a shot in the dark
SELECT A.first, A.last, A.clientID
FROM PendCustomer A, Customer B
WHERE A.email != B.email
what i get are the right results but a whole bunch of other stuff i dont need! it goes through all the records for each last name...so in turn returning every single record the number of times there are records minus the one that happens to be checking against its email address. can anyone help?
