please help a newbie

I have a flash site and all i need to do is ....

I have an input text field in my flash movie and wen i press the submit button i need a php page to save the content of the input text field to a .txt file.

I got this code and thought it should work but it doesnt so am i far off???????

Are you getting any error messages? Why are there trailing \'s in the code?

I dont get any error messages but it doesnt seem to work

am i being clear about wot i need because i thought it woz simple to do this if it isnt i might need to learn php

sound ill try it but in this line

fputs($myFile, "home=$var1&var2=$var2&var3=$var3&var4=$var4&statusmsg=$statusmsg");

im not too sure wot it means because

in the admin flash file ill have a input text filed called home and in the content.txt file ill have

&home=what ever is inputted

so that in the actual site there will be a dynamic text field called home which loads any text after

&home=

i.e - what ever is inputted

am i making it to complicated??

You asked how to write to a file. I showed you, I just took your variables and re-wrote them. So wherever the home stuff came from is on your end.
