i have just got a new Windows XP (oh well, it only came with Windows, my SUSE Linux 9.1 Pro pre-order should arrive soon) and I have installed Apache 1.3.29 and PHP 4.3.6 and everything seemed to be running fine.
Then I tested an web-application I had been working on and found that it worked on my old PC but not my new one. the thing which didn't work was writing files - it displayed info from files but woudn't write to them, it just reloaded the page with the same file on as before it was edited, no content changed. On my old PC I would have the file data echoed, and beneath have an edit box were u can edit the file data and when u do it should change the data on page. Fine on my old PC, not on my new one.
These are the upgrades I have:
Windows ME -> Windows XP
Apache 1.3.27 -> 1.3.29
PHP 4.2.30 -> PHP 4.3.6
I am running PHP as a SAPI Module on my new PC whereas I used to run it as CGI. I have used php.ini-reccomended this time rather than php.ini-dist which i used on my old PC.
I am completely stuck as to why this won't work.
Any help would be so much apprieciated, I really need to continue development soon!
cheers,
