echoing spaces instead of _

Ok, i have a user system, in the db one of the users name has to _ in it. kc_yoda_guy right? Ok, so when i connect to the db and get the username.. it only echo's kc or it echo's kc yoda guy
screwing up the url to his username becuase of the spaces.

Any ideas?

yeah but shouldn't it echo it correclt yfrom the db? this is before i even put it into the url?
