have a number of domains/IP’s which are pestering my domain [referral spamming I think it’s called]. As I understand I can use htaccess to make my domain appear 'dead' to those people. I can get it to do is show a "403 Forbidden Page" but I would like the domain to appear non-existent to these people. Is there any way to make the domain appear completely 'dead' to these people?

Any help would be much appreciated 😕

Not sure about this: domain registries are a matter of public record. I presume you could configure your sever (or firewall) to ignore requests from blacklisted IPs - they'll be sitting waiting ... waiting ... waiting ... waiting ... for a response that never comes.

my solution was adding

ErrorDocument 403 "

to the end of my htaccess file... not perfect but as close as i'm gonna get without spending
