I need a very simple PHP/ImageMagick Tutorial

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I've been looking all morning and have found nothing online that explains the rather lengthy 320-page PDF manual on ImageMagick nor real-life simplistic explanation of using ImageMagick within PHP to resize images that the GD Library doesn't support (GIF, PCD).

As far as ImageMagick goes; just look for an ImageMagick tutorial. Since PHP doesn't have any sort of ImageMagick extension, you'd be using system calls to use ImageMagick as a separate program.

GD is nicer, and more "powerful". That is to say, you can do much more using GD. Read the image section of the PHP manual.

isn't ImageMagick more versatile though? I always hear it being referred to as superior to GD.

Well, if you want powerful, then just go for the Gimp. Less than that and it depends on what you want to do.
