Possibility of seperating php coding and html

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to have a membership script written with File.html is only GUI DESIGN, and File.php is functionality?

Script will consist of members area and admin panel. End result will be both members area and admin panel pages design able to be change/edit without affecting coding.

Possible to use [tag] to represent the coding, hence in the html files, just input the [tag] of that function in the html and able to display and work.

Please advice. Thanks in advance.
