Edit Database Page

I am going to make a page for a client so that he can edit the database that I set up for him...

Is there anyway that I can ask for a password before he can access the page for obvious security reasons....

He wants to be able to add more and edit current information in the database.

Hi,

you could add a basic login to the page. Have a browse through the forum.

The general idea:

• Start a session ([man]session_start()[/man] )

• check whether in the session an authorized user is present (Either via some set variables, or via usercode + name or something.)

• If logged in, load hte page

• If not logged in: Check whehter username/password have been submitted, verfy against known users in eg. database, and register in session, then load page / incorrect user leads to login form

• If no user/pass submitted: Load login form.

Can someone post a sturdy log in page?

I fear mine won't be bullet proof (not that i could write a good one anyways)
