how detect active stylesheet ?

Hi there,

I've created a(nother) stylesheet switcher for my site.
I have a default stylesheet and several alternate ones.
Via a form you can choose which style you prefer, the style_id goes into a session and is then used on the whole site.

No problem so far.

But in some browsers (the good ones) you can chose the style you prefer via a browser-menu. Now the question: how do I find out if the stylesheet has been changed via the BROWSER and how do I find out the active stylesheet?

I've searched the web for several hours now and all I found was another guy who had the same question, but no answers...

by the way, if possible anyhow, I'd like to avoid JavaScript, I just don't like it and would like to keep it out of my code...

Hi,

if you do not want to use javascript, you should make each link in the menu submit the page (A form) to the server, so the server knows something has changed.

I think you misunderstood me.

on my SITE, there is a menu that submits the different styles and everything is fine.

but in some browsers (opera, netscape, mozilla...) you have a menu-option like "View > View Styles" or something like this, where the different styles are presented. I was wondering if it's possible to notify if the user changed the style that way, but I don't think it is...

I think, I'm gonna change my script, so that the browser itself does not know that there are different styles...
