Upgrade PHP 4.2.2 --> 4.3

I have a need to upgrade PHP 4.2.2 to PHP 4.3.x. I'm running on a RH Linux 9 box with the default RPM of 4.2.2 installed. Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, any problems, and what do I need to do to maintain current settings and just do the upgrade?

I'm cautious because this is a production box that can not have much downtime.
