Hi im in the middle of creating a tracking script. Im looking to collect the users ip address, but the problem is I dont have SSI. Is there any other way of obtaining it, say using javascript and PHP combined.

uhm, I believe if you do something like...
echo '<pre>'.print_r($_SERVER).'</pre>';
you will see one that offers the IP of the client... I believe its $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] (unless of course thats what you mean by not having SSI)
