Plz any one explain what are the considerations to be taken into account while selecting php , jsp, asp.net, vb.net as my serverside programme

ie when I can choose php

when I can choose jsp
when I can choose asp.net
when I can choose vb.net
what are the major differences between these serverside scripts

somany people are facing the same question in the interviews

This is a pretty good interview question. It checks to see if you know, and ideally worked with, these various technologies. It also tests you to see if you have a particular slant for one language versus the others. It could also see if you would fit in with their culture and thinking.
