Strip out first name

How can I strip out the first name if the string is "john clark". Thanks

Well, I would suggest looking at [man]explode[/man] but I'm in an odly good mood for having been at work already an hour before I'm supposed to....

so...

//end takes the last value from an array
//explode makes an array out of a string by dividing it at the delimiter provided, in this case... ' ' (a space)
$lastname = end(explode(' ', $name));
//so this would work with a full name also like John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmit -- and return Schmit as $lastname

You could always just replace strpos strrpos and with long strings that's going to be quicker and less memory intensive This may not seem like an issue at the moment but wait untill Mr Benga Min Min Silly Name Fantastic (... ad thousands of silly names in here ... ) Billabong Tangewackle tries to sign up, then you'll be in a pickle 😃
