Login scripts - caching issue

I'm trying to write a small user system with cookies, and while it works ok on the whole, cached versions of cookie protected pages still load. Of course, after refreshing, the "logged out" parts of the script kick in, but until that happens, all the information can still be seen.

Is there any way to automatically refresh pages or to prevent this from happening?
