I am coming from an asp/ms-sql environment but want to convert knowledge to php/mysql . I was wondering however if there is a visual tool to use for viewing my databases. Something comparable to MS-Sql tool. Or does creating and editing mysql only work through the command prompt?

download phpmyadmin, it's a good web based manager.

If you want a tool that can compare to the MS SQL tool, you should check the products from this company http://www.ems-hitech.com/index.phtml

I've only used the Postgres admin tool, but I know that the MySQL tool works just as well.

It's not free though

much appreciated to you both. I am using mysqladmin currently but am going to try to see if i like the demo of ems's correspondant software.
