Preventing send mail to hotmail going to junk folder !!!

im using this code to send a messge to someone receiving an E-card

mail("$receiveremail","Someone fancies you !", "Hello there,\n
Someone you know has sent you a secret message from heavydays.co.uk \n
Youcan view your message here : http://www.popcop.co.uk/ecards/viewcard.php?id=$eid

now if that mail is going to a hotmail address it automatically gets sent to junk mail folder..

is there any chance of fixing this ??

Make the content of the email look less like spam.

also not giving a valid from address is a bit of a tell-tale

from:heavydays ecard

change to

from:heavydays ecard <[e-mail]>

or whatever

and its still going to junk mail.

Is there anything you can see that coulbe changed

well firstly, you're still not sending a valid from address

$headers .= "From: \"Heavydays E-cards\"\r\n";

and secondly, hotmail junk filter seems to be a law unto itsself, in that there is no hard and fast rule of how to avoid it - if there was, then all spam would get through, thus defeating the object

im not sending spam email though...

im sending someone a messge to inform them they have received an ecard..

so if it keeps going into the junk folder then people arent going to know they have received a message

ive came across another problem...

when i sent the emails plain they worked fine when i used this code

now that ive changed PLAIN to HTML

The emails are going into the junk folder again in hotmail

Try removing the "X-*" headers

Ok, try sending it to my work email address: piers_at_otmnet.com

If our anti-spam software picks it up, I'll let you know why, and I'll take a look at the headers to see where it's going wrong ok?

Yeah, try emailing them using the address I gave earlier.

Right, the message that I got is this:

Email header contains a malformed MIME From: field

What it is, in the from bit it has "reply-to:" in it. It shouldn't.

Can you post the code that makes up the headers please.

Right I've spotted the mistake. Remember that at the end of each header, you need the "\r\n". Well, there isn't one after the "From:" header.

Try using this code instead:
