Keeping path of uploaded file

I have a form where people can submit articles. They also have the option of uploading an image file. The script does some validation and if there are any errors shows the form again with the entered values in the fields.

The trouble is that I cant get it to echo the value of the file field. Is there anyway to retain this value with the full path of the file so they do not need to click browse again and locate the file if there is an error.

The only way you can do it that i can think of is Javascript Copy the value and submit it when the forms submitted other than that PHP only gets the filename and cannot recognise the client address to the file
