Hi all
I've been doing WAMP for a couple of years and I've just installed SuSe Linux 9.0 Pro. Newbie nightmare, but it's cool. I want to do LAMP. I used YaST2 to install Apache 2.0 (with APXS2, prefork, documentation, example pages etc - I consulted the Admin handbook)
Now I want to compile/install PHP and MySQL. As everything is new anyway, I thought, what the hell, why not go for PHP5 now that the first RC is here? This is basically a case of RTFM, but can anyone point me in the right direction (up-to-date web tutorial or other thread) as to how to compile PHP5 from source and install ensuring the following configuration options: with XML support, with XSLT transformation support using SAXON, with PDF.
What about MySQL and PHP5 installation - is there anything I need to know?
Thanks for those stickies Stolzyboy. They're good, but the tutorials are from 2000 and I was wondering if there are any updated versions.
Thanks for your patience
Norm
