Content Management Script.. Suggestions?

Hey everyone, here's the deal :
I love the whole idea of those news scripts out there, where all you do is type in whatever you want, and it'll automatically update your news section. It got me thinking on how I could get that on every page, so I (or friends ) wouldn't exactly need an ftp program and upload the pages over and over again with updated content.
All we would have to do is login onto the script, select a catagory (then a page), and finally change the text (to update that page) to whatever we want. Then when people click on that page, they'll see the newly added information...
The users (that have permission to login) would have the power to create new pages, edit pages, delete pages, upload pictures, upload files, etc, etc.

I think this deals with a Content management script, but I'm not sure. I've checked around, and all of them are way way way more advanced then I really need it to be. I just want to be able to have what I stated above, in a script with like multiple users and such..

Any suggestions of what I could do? Anything that can point me into the right direction would help a bunch.

I suppose you could try here. Places like hotscripts.com, scriptworld.com, etc. are also full of such things.

Also, use the search link here, and try the same string. Not only are there many discussion in these forums, there is a code library at the main phpbuilder.com site.

Finally, in the Welling/Thompson book PHP and MySQL web development, (which comes with example code on CDROM) there is a simple database driven system, which you might adapt.
