if or switch? that is the question.

I have a system I am in the process of making and at first I started using ifs and the GET array to see what would be set and the template file would hold all the functions in the place I would want them displayed. This way I could remove or add new functions at any time I wanted and easily create a new page. What I want to know is if I started using switch and just used one function to display everything since this way would be cleaner and easier to use what do you think is the best choice?

As a general rule, I use if when I need an either/or check, and I know there will never be another option. For example, on/off, yes/no, empty/not empty, etc.

I use switch for anything else. I might have to choose between 3 different options, and I might also need a choice for no match (default🙂. Plus, if another choice is needed to be added later, it's a simple matter of adding another case to the switch statement.

In your case, if you'll pardon the pun, I would use the switch statement.
