photo gallery w/form fields for each thumbnail

I would like to create a photo gallery page, by pulling all of the images from a directory, displaying them as thumbnails on the page and also including form fields with each thumbnail. Then potentially using the filename of the photo as variables for the form fields.

i thought so as well, but my only problem is getting each thumbnail to display with it's own form fields.

Do you want this form field to be; a text box for users to enter text, non-editable text box (like a label), or like the picture as a button? I don't quite know what form field you want.

actually each thumbnail will have 3 textboxes and a submit button.

Sure, should be easy enough. First you'll need to read the directory, then resize the image (search for 'resize image'), and display the image with the form fields. You should be able to do the resizing and form fields in the loop while reading the directory. That should get you started, let me know if you have any other questions.

Here's a more interesting question for you...

For each image, you'll have a form. Do you want:

Submit button for each image
Submit button for the entire page

If you go do #1, user edits 1 image and then must submit it. This can be a pain if the user wishes to modify 5 images. They'd have to update 1 image then submit. Update the 2nd image then submit. Rinse and repeat.

Option #2 is kind of nice. User makes the changes they need and click once to save them. Trick is you'll need to really keep track of the field names. I suspect this may be the most difficult part. But if you do a little planning, it can make it a little easier for your form processing code. But you'll need to do what's comfortable for you. Arrays will definitely be your friend for this type of stuff...

for this site to work correctly I'm gonna have to do it the #1 way. I'm fairly new to php and the part of generating a form for each is killing me lol. It's funny, I have written sites that connect to oracle databases and modify the tables, but this silly little site is actually kicking my arse...hehe.
