Any of you guys hang out in IRC during work hours? (hard at work of course). Maybe we could have a phpbuilder channel if there isn't one already 🙂

Well, for now I suggest we use the servers at freenode. I've already registered the channel (cunningly entitled) #phpbuilder.

I also suggest a few rules, like no coding questions (use the board for that). Actually, I can't think of any others at the moment, but I'm sure we can come up with some.

I'm feeling lonely at the moment in there...

mirc is the most popular. You can customize mirc with some scripting too.

Any chance we could move off freenode? It seems to, well.. suck. I get disconnected if I idle, can't speak if I don't auth (which I don't if I disconnect), and can't keep my name very well.

I would much rather use another server like UnderNet (which I frequent, and it's very nice).

Or are now incapable of using the shift key. Sentences start with a capital letter! This is not IRC or ICQ or IM or AIM or whatever realtime chat thingy you play with. It's hard enough solving problems in PHP without having to decipher what passes for English among all too many people here as well. I certainly have a hard time (maybe that's because I don't play with IRC, etc.)....
