IIS:
1- with scripting installed
2- without scripting installed

Any limitations for this recipe?!

This for a professional hosting solution or just a test box?

I'm not able to find any hardcore numbers, but I think IIS under XP runs with a limited number of connections available like 10 or so. For a home solution, XP will be fine.

For a professional environment, I'd opt for W2k Server.
