turning strings into numerc

I need to turn that into 234556 so that I can perform calculations on it.

Can anyone help me please ????

[man]substr[/man] to lose the pound sign, [man]str_replace[/man] to drop the commas. After that it will look enough like a number that PHP will treat it like one.
