Radio Broadcast over internet?

HI guys,

how does one successfully make a live web-broadcast of an FM radio station? can someone enlighten me with the process?

as of now, what i know is:

Since the radio station im working with uses a computer and a software to organize their broadcast over the radio, i was thinking, I'd setup a webserver on that computer and connect that to the internet.. then, they should save the session in mp3 format, and put into the webserver root folder. Then, ill simply provde a link to that mp3 file..

I know im way off the real professional and efficient way of doing this... well.. i gues that's why im asking you guys..

basically you need a streaming server and some software to make it go

hmm.. but what i need to do is have an already established FM RadioStation broadcast its music to the internet so that fans from other cities can here them through the internet.

They've been using JAzzler as their mixer in the station, and i need something that can work with that, or preferably standalone, but can broadcast whatever is being played in jazzler.

you see, they have their standard operations that i can not alter.. they just need to have their broadcast go online LIVE.

any ideas?

Shoutcast is your best bet. Just get shoutcast set-up properly...then, have the radio hooked up to the computer with winamp....through line in or something.

It's really not too hard.

But doesnt that mean they'd have to abadon their current software (Jazzler) ?? Or did you mean the computer running the main dailly programs and ads (Jazzler) connected to another computer running shoutcast?

Yes, just somehow get the output of one computer hooked up to the computer you would be broadcasting from.

Ok, are you looking to actually stream the broadcast live (albeit a few seconds delay for buffering etc) or allow listeners to download the mp3 at some point in the future?

Hi there mate.

Yeah, LIVE BROADCAST to the internet from a FM radion station.. The idea is to get the daily FM Radio Shows to be broadcasted live online as it happens so that people from other cities and fans outside the country can simply listen via the internet.

The only thing to consider is that, the radio station already uses a PC and a software which they are already comfortable with (Jazzler).. and i dont think i can get them to use something else..
