uhhh hi. i was wondering. my friend has this ASP script that uses an .mdb database and has features so that you can signup/login and send messages like emails to users, but not actuall emails. is there such a way i can use a PHP script to do this w/o a mysql database?

Yes, I think you are reffering to PM's (Personal Message). Look below my post, there is a PM button there, try it out. As far as doing this w/o a database, yes. But you'll need to store the messages somewhere, be it a file or different DB. However you store your users, I would use the same place for PM's, ex: flat file, mySQL.

ahhh yes thats exactly what im talking about? how do i do that? or where can i get the core script?
