Format text in php generated email

This should be simple. Here is some text from my php code:

$message="<b>Name:</b> $realname\n".
"Address: $address_line_1\n".
"Post Code: $postcode\n".
"Telephone: $telephone\n".
"Email: $email\n".
"Password: The password people is helloWorld";

When the email is sent, the Name: text doesn't show up bold. How do I do this ?

Are you sending it with html mime headers? You would have to in order for that to work...
But then your newlines would have to be converted to breaks.

I am unsure ?. How do I use mime headers ? (major newbie here) I just want to make the word Name: appear in bold in the email

Thanks for your help LordShryku, it is greatly appreciated. I have taken a look at the link you gave me and I am getting much closer. Here is what I have so far:
