Hi, I've been here a couple months but haven't properly introduced myself. I'm currently in Michigan (US) and only do this stuff strictly as a hobby 🙁. I've been coding HTML for about 8 years and started learning Javascript maybe 2 or 3 years after I started learning HTML.
I had pretty much stopped coding altogether when I happened to see an easy tutorial on setting up WAMP. I was bored and decided to give it a try.
Let's just say PHP and MySQL made me remember why I chose to go into computer science in the first place. I've only been using them since February, but everything came so natural and was so promising that I couldn't believe what I had been missing out on.
Looking for tutorials, I ended up here. I read several and I think they gave me a very good foundation to build upon. But I finally ended up coming to the forums and was blown away by the knowledge. I have to say that this is one of the better communities I've seen on the 'net. While I usually only post here to help people with simple problems, a lot of the time I'm just regurgitating what I've learned from you guys.
I'm looking forward to having some great conversations and thought-provocing brainstorming with the PHP masters (and novices) and plan to be here for the long run.
(I hope this wasn't too long-winded)
