[RESOLVED] Newbie here--just want an easy webserver for Dev.

I have a website that is hosted by someone else on a UNIX box running Apache.

I want to develop some PHP that runs off MYSQL. I need to do the development on my computer (which I will then adjust and test on the Apache server when I am complete with the development).

I am running WindowsXP Home Edition.

I looked at Apache, and that is WAY above my skill level, and I'm not interested in learning webserver development, just PHP and MYSQL.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get something set up that I can use?

Actually, Apache is fairly simple to setup and use on a Windows box. They have an msi installer that should do most of the work for you. Then install php by following the instructions in the manual. If you run into trouble, post your problem in the Install forum.

Ok. I loaded Apache and opened a new thread in Install. 🙁
