file size validation code trouble

Hello!
i am trying to get some code to work for uploading files.
the code has a size validation, but it seems to be a little messed up. when i try to upload, i get this message:

"The file size is invalid, please try again! The maximum file size is:10 MB and your file was:1.59 KB"

now, 1.59 KB is smaller than 10 MB, unless things have changed and i don't know about it...

so, if anybody wants to take a look, i attached the files...the code is nicely commented and easy to browse (thanks to the original author!)

i see that the line that sets the variable is commented out.
//$valid_size = $upload_class->validate_size();

get rid of the // and see if it works

OOps, sorry, that was not actually there when i originally tested it...i put that there trying to trouble shoot, to see if i could make it work without the size validation!

sorry for the confusion...the original code should not have any commented out lines on the upload.php file

but wow! thanks for the quick response and for taking the time to look at the code! it is very nice that there are people williing to help out with this stuff!!

ok i found the problem.

in the class file, inside the function validate_size(), you need to make a minor change.

the fourth line in the function,
if(!$temp_file_name){
needs to be
if($temp_file_name){

also, you may want to keep testing. there may be other errors in it. it still wouldnt upload the file but it was for another reason.
nm, i just accidentally put the wrong log dir.

that fixed the file size problem! and you are right, now i have a file extension problem...heh! i am looking into that now...fingers crossed.

thanks again for the help! i am just learning and troublshooting seems to be the hardest part right now...

i also noticed that in my rush to attach the zip file, i think i added the class file named class.upload_files.php when the upload.php file actually looks for c_FileUpload.php you obviously notice the mix up...all i did was rename class.upload_files.php to c_FileUpload.php...so same thing, just different name.

so off to look at it some more! 😃 i owe you...unfortunately, i may not ever be able to return the favor...🙁
