LDAP module - SSL question

In order to authenticate users against a LDAP directory one can use the LDAP PHP module which works fine with non encrypted sessions. However, the use of SSL is the big issue. The SSL schema works only with the stunnel tool (which is able to establish a secure tunnel between the local machine and the LDAP server).

Is there any way of authenticate using LDAPS without stunnel tool ?!

Unfortunatelly the 'ldap_start_tls' function did not work.
I've done the same thing as the sample found at the link posted before ... yet it did not work.

Maybe something is missing ... I don't know ...

What I'm trying to do is authenticate my users agaisnt a LDAP server using SSL ... in my IIS w/ PHP ! Again it works fine with stunnel ...

Any ideas you be apreciated ...
