Presenting big numbers?

Hello!

I would like to know if there is a function for making big numbers look easier to read. For example, if i got the number 1000000 then you have to count the 0 to see that its 1 million. But if it got printed like 1 000 000 then you see at once that its 1 million.

Is there a function for this in php or do i have to write my own?
